Lillie Beatrice Dampier Wells was born April 3rd, 1939 in Minden, Louisiana to Leether Walker and JC Dampier. She was the only daughter of Leether Walker, and the eldest of all of her sibling. Lillie’s favorite color was purple, which combines the calm stability of blue and fierce of red like the personality of Lillie.
Lillie Dampier and Van Wells met in a Café owned by her mother Leether Walker. From there they became inseparable and quickly married on February 14, 1958. In their union they birthed 4 children. Lillie was a general contractor, she stopped working to stay home to care for her four children.
Lillie enjoyed being around family and friends making memories. She was a majorette in high school, played Basketball, and love sports. Lillie loved God and was a faithful servant and church member until she was not able to attend anymore. Lillie was a part of the women choir; she truly lived an abundantly full life.
Lillie was preceded in death by her parents Leether Walker and JC Dampier, sister Jimmie Ann Dampier, brother June Dampier, her daughter Samantha Wells and husband Van Wells Jr..
She leaves behind to cherish her memories daughter Glenda Jones, sons Titus Wells Sr. and Torrance Wells Sr., Three sisters Mary McElroy, Lisa Greenwood, and Ebony Bryant six brothers Gustavus Dampier, Jessie Frank Dampier, Carmichael Lewis, Luther Myers, Jason Myers and Pastor Leland Gordon as well as a host of grandchildren, great and great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews that loved her dearly.
