Lillian Frieda Kasper was born on March 20, 1929 to Otto and Frieda (Weise) Kasper in Serbin, Texas, the sixth of seven children. She was baptized on March 31, 1929 and was confirmed on April 18, 1943 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Serbin by Pastor Herman Schmidt. She was married to Alfred Theis on July 29, 1949 in Houston, TX. Their marriage was blessed with two children, Thomas and Deborah.
Alfred and Lillian made their home in Houston and were active members of Our Savior Lutheran Church. Through the years, Lillian served in many volunteer roles, most recently for Lutheran Braille Workers which she particularly enjoyed.
Lillian truly had a servant's heart and enjoyed nothing more than taking care of her family. She cooked many Sunday dinners for everyone and was always there whenever she was needed in any way she could. She is leaving a huge hole in her family and will be missed by everyone who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 49 years, Alfred and her beloved son, Thomas. She is survived by her daughter Deborah Moon and husband, Jerry; grandchildren Heather Snyder, Tracey Johnson and husband Jeremy, Chris Moon, Brent Theis and wife Jackie, Andrew Hammill and wife Brandy; great grandchildren Aiden and Cole Johnson, Haylee, Lillian and Liam Theis and Alyssa, Grayson and Harrison Hammill. Also survived by her brother Milton Kasper, sister Junelle Nittsche and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00pm on Sunday October 2nd at the Brookside Funeral Home-Champions. Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm on Monday, October 3rd at Our Savior Lutheran Church at 5000 W. Tidwell with with Dr. Laurence White officiating. Interment to follow at Resthaven Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Moon, Chris Moon, Brent Theis, Jeremy Johnson, Andrew Hammill and Travis Snyder. For those desiring, contributions can be made to Our Savior Lutheran Church-Forward Faithfully Fund.
