Lillian Mary Roman

Lillian Mary Roman, born October 2, 1925, was called to the Lord peacefully on March 22, 2012 at the age of 86. She lived a long full life with her sweetheart Raymond Roman whom she married in 1947 in Houston, Texas. They were happily married for 63 years until his death in 2010. She and Ray were blessed with two devoted daughters, Cindy and Cheryl. Lillian enjoyed being active in her daughters lives. She was a homeroom mother, Brownie and Girl Scout leader, while enjoying her career as a bookkeeper. She loved her family gatherings, their lake home, garden clubs, and her philanthropic organization, Epsilon Sigma Alpha. In 1988 Lil and Ray retired to their home on Lake Livingston. They became very active in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and she loved her work with the Catholic Daughters. She also volunteered over 2000 hours at Livingston Hospital. When they moved back to Houston in 2003, Lillian was again active with the Catholic Daughters and continued with all of her hobbies. Lil was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Roman; her parents, Agnes and George Bell; her step-brother, George Bell, III and wife Ann; and her brother-in-law, Lincoln Roman. She is survived by her sister, Wilma Platz and husband JB; her sister-in-law, Rosemary Roman. Her loving daughters, Cindy Newbury and husband, Darrell; Cheryl Thomas and husband, Tommy; grandchildren, Zach Thomas and wife, Tiffany; Jeff Magee and wife, Shawn; Ashley Pate and husband, Jeff; and Chris Magee. Great Grandchildren, Bryce Magee, Layton Thomas, and Addison Pate as well as many other very special relatives and friends. The family would like to thank the staff at Belmont Village Assisted Living for all their love and care for Lillian during her years there.

The Funeral mass will be held on Monday, March 26, 2012 at 2pm at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 6800 Buffalo Speedway, Houston, Texas 77025. A visitation will be held prior to service at 1:30pm. At the conclusion of the mass we will come in procession to Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery for the committal service.
