Lillian “Lilli” Ramos González was born September 27, 1927, in Yoakum, Texas. She was called home by the Lord on September 1, 2023 at the age of 95. Lillian is preceded in death by her parents, Benito and Jesusa Ramos and siblings, Dora Jones, Tomasita Dove, Gloria Reyna, son- in- law, Juan Rangel and her husband, Daniel Gonzalez.
She leaves behind her daughter Anna Marie Rangel; her three granddaughters Rosa Silva (Jesus Silva), Ana Rangel, Laura Ramos (Angel Ramos); her seven great-grandchildren Rebecka Dueñez, Analissa Dueñez, Alaina Silva, Jonathan Silva, Katya Ramos, Sofia Ramos, and Lukas Ramos; her sister Rose Ramos; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Lillian was raised in Sixth Ward in Houston, Texas. She attended Dow Elementary and graduated from Sam Houston High School. She began her career at Western Union as a Telegraph Worker and retired from the offices of Western Union in Bellaire, TX after 45 years. She then went on to serve as an educator for an additional 18 years at Cage Elementary in Houston ISD. She served and volunteered her time on many committees and organizations, including; Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court Regina Coeli #1959 (Past Regent), Cursillo de Cristiandad, OLMC Grupo Guadalupano, OLMC New Generation Seniors, and OLMC Rosary Guild. She had a passion for helping others and dedicated her time to volunteering. She instilled the love of reading in all her grandchildren and taught many life lessons along the way. Lillian’s favorite pastime was dancing with the love of her life, Danny. Her favorite hobbies included gardening, baking, crafting, photography, traveling, dining out, and shopping. Lillian will be remembered as the matriarch of the family as a dedicated and loving wife, mother, and Meemaw.
She will be missed dearly by all, and her beautiful smile will forever live in our hearts.
A visitation for Lillian will be held Friday, September 8, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Our Lady of Mount Carmel, 6723 Whitefriars Dr, Houston, TX 77087. A rosary service will occur Friday, September 8, 2023 from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM, 6723 Whitefriars Dr, Houston, TX 77087. A funeral mass will occur Saturday, September 9, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, 6723 Whitefriars Dr, Houston, TX 77087. A committal will occur Saturday, September 9, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home & Forest Park Lawndale, 6900 Lawndale St, Houston, TX 77023.
