Lila Jo's passion was young children and helping others. She was an Elementary School Teacher for over 25 years with the last 18 in Galena Park ISD. She continued a long history of 131 years of family involvement in Odd Fellowship and the Rebekahs and served as a Past Noble Grand of Joseph Collins Rebekah Lodge #7. She was a Proud Texan and a member of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas.
Mrs. Cooper is preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Vergie Sorsby, and a son, Thomas Cooper. Survived by: son and daughter-in-law, Robert M Cooper and Julie St. Onge; grandsons, Alexander St. Onge-Cooper and Matthew St. Onge-Cooper.
The family will receive friends at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home on Friday, April 25, 2014 from 1:00 PM until the service time of 2:00 PM in the Resthaven Chapel. Interment will follow at Earthman Resthaven Cemetery
