Lila Mary Brown, age 79, of Houston, Texas passed away on Thursday December 26, 2019. Lila was born September 7, 1940 in Barbados to her parents Carl Wesley Curry and Lila Atwell Curry
Lila grew up in a community which in her own words were more English than the English. She was educated in Barbados and developed a passion for flowers and classical opera. She left for England in the 60’s to work and gain experience as a laboratory technician in some of the larger hospitals in London as well as indulging in her passion for opera. She moved to Bristol England in the 70’s continuing her work in the hospital laboratories there. Always compassionate and considerate of others more than herself, she decided to move to a Kibbutz in Israel. There she met her husband George and they moved to Australia where their son David was born and then to the USA. After the sudden death of her husband George she began working as an administrator at Prudential, which eventually became Wells Fargo Advisors. The welfare of her son David had become here main passion and still was until the day she passed away.”
Lila is survived by her husband of fifteen years, Derrick Brown; son David Andrew Hilvert; brother Michael Curry and sister Veronica Curry and stepson George Mathew Brown.
