LeRoy Jefferson, age 81, of Houston, Texas passed away on Thursday, June 22, 2023. He was born in Houston, Texas on January 13, 1942 to parents Dale B. Jefferson and Ethel Marie Jefferson. LeRoy had a career as a Courier at Ridgeway for over 20 years. He had a passion for fishing, camping, dancing, and music.
LeRoy was a man of “a lot” of words! One may have stereotyped him as an ornery man and while there may have been some truth to this, he was a gentle giant with a giant heart. He loved joking around and making others happy. He had a contagious smile that would light up a room. His love for his dog “J.J” was priceless. He referred to him as his “partner”. No doubt they left a print on each other’s heart.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dale B. and Ethel Marie Jefferson; sisters, Wanda Lee McDaniel, Patsy Ann Petrosky, and Joy Wynell Dinsmore-Zamora; brother, Jerry Allen Jefferson.
He is survived by his daughter, Wanda Rone and husband Jeff; grandchildren; great grandchildren; sisters, Mimie Frances Redd, and Lynda Florence Moore; brother, Richard Jefferson and wife Pat; along with many nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers are Greg Dinsmore, Phillip Dinsmore, Jeff Rone, Donald Moore, Jimmy Myers, and Allen James Jefferson.
Special thanks to his neighbors and friends he met along the way. Thank you for the love and laughter you gave in return.
It was LeRoy’s life and he lived it the way he wanted.
