A loving father, grandfather and great grandfather, died peacefully surrounded by all his loving children in Pampanga, Philippines on December 27, 2021. One of six children, born on March 22, 1925 to Marcela Lucas Paras and Eriberto Yonzon Paras.
Fondly called “Daddy Ba” to many, he was married to Magdalena Navarro Paras (“Mommy Ba”). They had eleven children, ten girls and one boy. Entrepreneurship led them to start and venture in multiple businesses to support their big family, namely, a grocery store, bakery, rice mill, construction supplies, trucking, water irrigation and gasoline station. With the economic downturn in the Philippines, their family migrated to the USA in the late 70’s and early 80’s and was able to bring all but one of their children.
At 96 years old, he always said he had a “Bonus Life” and enjoyed life to the fullest. He was known for his involvement in community services in schools and churches. He even helped many farmers in their livelihood by providing seeds and fertilizers, sharing his water irrigation system and assisting them in securing government funds. He also pioneered the first telephone company in his hometown.
