Leonard A. Potts was born on September 26th, 1921 in Tulsa, Oklahoma and died on November 8th, 2019 in Houston, Texas at 98 years old surrounded by loved ones. Leonard served in the US Air Force during World War II as an instructor for nose gunners on the B52 bombers. Following his service, he moved to Houston, Texas where he started Royal Blue Print Co. in 1952 until he retired in 1985. After retirement, he spent his time traveling, fishing and enjoying his family. Leonard was also an avid sports fan with Oklahoma and Texas teams being his favorite. He had a special place in his heart for the Houston Astros and was excited to not only see them win the World Series in 2017, but also go again in 2019. Leonard also enjoyed the holiday season, especially Christmas Eve, where the family would come together, open gifts and spend time with one another.
He is survived by his wife, Grace Ann Potts, and his children Ray Potts (wife Lyn), Barbara Shaw (husband Sam), Drew Potts (wife Tonja), Mary Smith (husband Wayne), Belinda Kubeczka (husband Vincent). He also had numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.
Leonard left a profound impact on those who knew him with his humble heart and endless love for his family. He will be missed dearly and loved forever.
Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, November 13, 5pm - 8pm at the Heights Funeral Home. Mr. Potts will be laid to rest at Houston National Cemetery.
