Leonard was preceded in death by both of his parents and wife, Connie Cooper.

Leonard is survived by his daughter, Nancy Lynn Loesch and her husband Stephen; son, Matthew Lee Cooper and his wife Casey; grandchildren, McCartney, Ethan, Connie and Ben; sister, Dominique Seader; brother, Jack Cooper; Fiancée, Jenny Waltmon, and numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family members and friends.

Leonard was a proud retiree from the Houston Police Department. He served on the force for 26 years prior to his retirement and held the rank of Lieutenant and the title of Latent Fingerprint Examiner. After his retirement he moved to Trinity, Texas.

Visitation will take place on Tuesday, July 5, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 13001 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas, 77079. A Funeral Service will be held at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at 12:30 p.m. Interment will follow at Memorial Oaks Cemetery.
