Lena Marie Buchanan

Lena Marie Buchanan passed away peacefully at her home in Humble, Texas on November 27, 2014. Mom was born in Houston on June 5, 1930 to the late Roy and Annie Musachia and grew up in the Fifth Ward. After graduating from Jeff Davis High School, she married B.L. "Buck" Buchanan and moved to Pasadena where she lived for more than 50 years. Mom loved to read and to travel, but spent most of her time raising her three boys and keeping them on the straight and narrow. She is preceded in death by her husband, Buck Buchanan, her sister and brother-in-law, Josephine and Frank Coselli, and her brother-in-law Fred Emmite. Lena is survived by her sons John A. Buchanan and his wife Mello, James R. Buchanan and his wife Lisa, and Joseph P. Buchanan and his wife Lynda; by her grandsons and granddaughters, Todd Buchanan and wife Brandi, Andrew Buchanan, Alex Buchanan and his wife April, Adam Buchanan, Kelly Buchanan, Mary Abigail Buchanan, Caitlin Buchanan, Josh Holley and wife Dana, Melinda Burkman and husband Brandon, Davis Holley, and Michael Holley; by great-grandchildren, Emma Holley, Colton Buchanan, and Victoria Buchanan; by her sister Lillian, and by numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at Forest Park Lawndale on Monday, December 1, 2014 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, December 2 at 10:00 a.m. at Forest Park Lawndale, 6900 Lawndale Avenue, Houston. Interment at Forest Park Lawndale cemetery will follow the service.
