As a toddler, Lee moved to Watsonville, CA where he grew up. In 1946, after he graduated from high school, Lee joined the Air Force. He was a “radar man”, and served all over the globe. In 1956, he was awarded the Air Force Airman of the Year. He said this award changed his life as he was sent to a conference in New Orleans, LA. There he met the love of his life, Forrestine Boyd. They were married on May 25, 1959. She preceded him in death.
Lee retired from the Air Force in 1960 and began his life in sales. He worked in the oil industry and traveled all over the world. He was particularly proud of his 53 trips to China. In 1995, Lee retired as the Executive Vice President of Sales from Input/Output (I/O) in Houston, Texas. After retirement, he
moved to Las Vegas, NM and then in 1998 he moved to Pine Mountain Lake, Groveland, CA. He fondly considered himself the old man on the mountain. He moved to Columbus, Ohio in 2012.
Lee is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Taylor and Mary Ann Sparks, grandchildren Jessica, Jeffrey, Holly (Paul) Licata, Jarrett Wilkerson and two great-grandchildren, Horatio and Josephine Licata.
