Leanne Schillaci Goodwin, 68, passed away at home on Friday, February 2nd, 2024. She was the first daughter born to Anthony Gene Schillaci & Savera Sicola Lewis on July 29th, 1955 in Houston, Texas. Leanne is preceded in death by her mother, Savera.
Most of her fondest memories were being raised and taught in her Italian family surrounded with her grandmothers, aunts, and cousins. Leanne attended and graduated Waltrip High School in 1973. After high school, Leanne started working in the corporate world, gaining self-taught knowledge and experience, where she eventually made her career in the energy sector. She worked her way up through Panhandle Energy, which later became known as Energy Transfer as a marketing coordinator, utilization & forecasting for over 29 years. She was extremely dedicated to her role, and she truly took pride in everything she put into it and received out of it.
Leanne loved the holidays and loved taking pride in decorating her home in true fashion – she was known for having her Christmas tree up by the first of November. Along with her love for home decorating, she also was extremely generous in gift giving at Christmas and on Family Birthdays, taking time and thought of the perfect gift for the gift receiver and wrapping it with great detail.
Leanne brought joy and elegance to every room with her impeccable fashion sense and perfectly manicured nails. Her love for dressing up and attention to detail were reflections of her classy personality and innate grace. She took pride in the beauty God gave her and she always brought her best.
Leanne loved her family deeply. She made it a priority to be with family on the biggest and most precious moments when memories are made that live forever in our hearts and minds, and she honored her family through traditions passed down from generations - family gatherings, holidays, Italian food and appetizers, the absolute BEST fruit pizza you ever tasted, hugs, laughter, and love.
She will sadly be missed by her husband, Benny Goodwin, who she was married to for 29 years. She leaves behind her father Anthony Gene Schillaci and stepmother Janet, brother Samuel Schillaci, sister Bonnie and husband, Jeff Glover and brother John Schillaci and wife, Lisa. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews, as well as great-nephews and great-nieces who will miss her dearly.
Leanne’s family was everything to her and loved every role she lived - a wife, daughter, sister, and aunt. Her continued guidance and love will carry her family through to the end of our days. We know we will miss her, but know that she will be with us always, looking after us and keeping us in her prayers from above. Thank you all for sharing your memories and honoring Leanne.
