Lawrence Johnson was born on January 30, 1948 in Houston, Texas to Mother Elizabeth Johnson and Father Lawrence Bembry.He attended Brock Elementary, Lockett, and Booker T. Washington High School. He retired as a truck driver from Ho Ho Express after working over twenty years. He was married to Barbara Maxie and to this union one child was born, Xschelshia.At an early age he untied with New Hope Baptist Church and was baptized by the late Reverend M.M. Pierson.Lawrence is preceded in death by his parents and one sister. He is survived by one daughter, Xschelshia, two sisters Linda F. Taylor (Oregon) and Janice M. Williams, five nieces and four nephews. He leaves behind a companion of 20 years; Virginia Batiste (Houston), two step daughters, and three grandchildren. A host of great nieces, great nephews, extended family Aunt Corene, Aunt Dora (CA), the Tillman Family, and a host of relatives and friends.
