Laura Ann Boland

Laura was born August 13, 1927 in New Orleans, Louisiana. Her parents were Thomas Gordon Scott and Lucile Allen Scott. The family moved to Houston soon afterwards. She was a 1944 graduate of Reagan High School, now Heights High. After high school, Laura moved to New York City and became a model for Hattie Carnegie. It was in New York that she met her husband of 37 years, John Boland. He died in 1988.

Laura was preceded in death by her brothers and sister, Robert (Bob) Scott, David Scott, and Patricia (Patty) Gassoway. She is survived by her four children, Lucile Hicks and her husband, Ken Hicks, John (Sam) Boland and his wife, Gwen Boland, Joan Stehling and her husband Larry Stehling and Robert Boland.Her brother, Gordon Scott, also survives her. She had six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

One final note, she loved to dance.
