Larry G. Smiers

Larry Gene Smiers, born in Houston on September 19, 1951 to Edward & Frances (Vallone) Smiers, Sr., passed to eternal life on January 11, 2014. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Karen Lowman Smiers, daughters Lindsay Smiers and Christina Knight & husband Chris, and precious grandchildren who kept his life light and happy. Also surviving are brothers Leslie (Joe) Smiers & wife Patricia and Tom Smiers, among other extended family members.

An AT&T employee at the time of his death, Larry used his leisure time to pursue various interests. Always evolving, family, travel, motorcycles, and fishing were constant points of joy and adventure throughout the years. The last decade included a focus on horses, Harleys, and John Deeres as he worked and played at his Bellville farm, Blessings. Generally a quiet man, Larry’s impact on other’s lives remains evident and he will be greatly missed by those who met this gentle man.

A celebration of Larry’s life will be held at Brookside Funeral Home - Cypress Creek on Saturday, February 8 at 11 AM.
