Larry Gene Bartos, age 75, passed away October 13, 2023. He was beloved and respected by his family and friends, his calm demeanor brought joy to anyone who was lucky enough to meet him. He was patient and kind; his loss is immeasurable.
Larry was born in Sealy, TX on September 5, 1948. He graduated from Moulton High School in 1967 and spent his career in the construction industry. He retired from Terracon Consultants in April 2021. Larry’s love of craft beer was legendary. He eagerly shared his vast knowledge with anyone that would sit and drink a brew with him. Vacations centered around exploring breweries and brewpubs. He traveled to The Netherlands, Belgium and Germany in search of great beer.
Larry always put his family first, he instilled in his children and grandchildren the values of compassion, empathy, integrity, and perseverance. He is preceded in death by his parents Willie and Lallie (Kocian) Bartos, grandson Lane Stungis, and nephew Aaron Bartos. He is survived by his wife of 43 years Susan Bartos (Galambos), son Andy Bartos (Liz), daughter Allie Stungis (Adam), daughter Caroline Bartos (Emily), and his three grandchildren: Aaron, Eulalia and Lucy. He is also survived by his brother Joseph Bartos (Rose), sister Annette Meazle (Vernon), and brother Robert Bartos (Yolanda). He was loved by his many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and in-laws.
Larry will be dearly missed by his family and friends. As we bid farewell, we remember the impact he had on all our lives and the enduring love he leaves behind. May his soul rest in peace, and may his memory be a source of comfort and inspiration to us all.
A Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 pm on Wednesday October 25, 2023 at Brookside Funeral Home – Cypress Creek 9149 Hwy 6 North, Houston, TX 77095. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday October 26, 2023 at 10:00am at St. Joseph Catholic Church – 601 N Pecan St., Moulton, TX 77975, Internment, St. Joseph Cemetery.
