Larry James Adams

Larry James Adams, age 73, of Houston, Texas passed away on Saturday, August 13, 2022 in Houston, Texas. Larry was born May 13, 1949 to the late Christine Arrington and James Adams in Brooklyn, New York. His love of Martial arts and sports was guided by his late step-father Abner Arrington.

at the age of 16 larry went to live with his grandparents Matthew Lofton and annie Bryant-Lofton, graduating from Boys High as a football elite. In 1973 he met the love of his life, Helen Dozier Adams. They married May 7, 1976 in which Larry was a dedicated guide and father to a host of nieces nephews; late Ursel, late Terrina, Tamina, John, Shanice, Anthony and late Lavonia. In 1981 they welcomed their son Jamaal Husayn Al-Hakim Adams.

Larry (Legend) Adams was considered the guru of Pest Control in the category of rodents. He was featured in a New York Post article as Exterminator of the City in 1977. As senior supervisor of the Health Department during 9/11 attacks, he was honored by Mayor Bloomberg for services conducted by his trained professional crew members. His dedication and professionalism will be remembered by all of his co workers with fond loving memories.

Larry Adams is survived by his sons John and Jamaal, daughter-in-law Ifeyinwa, granddaughter Rayshaun and Ti'ara Adams, grandson Jahzir Adams, brother Gods body David Simpkins (Peace to the Nation) sisters Arlene, Andrea, Velda, Cheryl and a host of nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Larry will be held Friday, October 7, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. A visitation will occur from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home, 12800 Westheimer Road, Houston, TX 77077.
