With profound sorrow, we announce the passing of Kuo-Liang Yu at the age of 75. Kuo peacefully departed from us on September 22, 2023, while enjoying a memorable journey through Greece, where he was accompanied by his beloved wife, Anita.
Born on June 5, 1948, to Chin-Chun Yu and A-Wan Tseng in Hualien City, Taiwan, Kuo was the youngest among his 13 siblings. He consistently shone as a star student and earned the esteemed privilege of attending National Taiwan University. In 1972, Kuo and Anita embarked on a new chapter in their lives, immigrating to the United States where they established successful careers and started a family. Kuo earned his Master's degree and pursued his Ph.D. in chemical engineering at the University of Houston. Kuo's exceptional talent in mathematics and science defined him throughout his career as a chemical engineer, where he garnered the admiration of peers and stakeholders alike as a senior project manager.
Dedicated to his role as a parent and grandparent, Kuo treasured his family above all else. He leaves behind his devoted wife of 50 years, Anita Yu, their two children, Andrew (Janice) and Angela (Benjamin). Kuo's legacy extends to his five cherished grandchildren: Aaron, Zoe, Alexa, Ethan, and Austin.
We will come together to celebrate Kuo-Liang Yu's life on October 21, 2023, at 2:00 PM.
Though Kuo is no longer here with us, his spirit will live on in the hearts and memories of all fortunate enough to have known him.
