Kuo, Ku Jui-Lien passed away peacefully at age 89 in Houston, Texas. She was born and raised in Anhwei, China in 1922. In 1948 she and her husband-to-be, Yuen-Fu Kuo, left communist China and moved to Taiwan to start a new life and family of their own. They married in February 22, 1949 in Taipei Hwashan Catholic Church. Jui-Lien was a recognized elementary school teacher for 46 years who inspired the lives of many students. After her retirement in 1987 and the passing of her husband in 1993, she followed her children to live in the United States.
Jui-Lien was born into a traditional Chinese culture that believed in strong family values, honesty and education as the most important achievements in life. However, she also kept an open mind to the ideas of the new generations. She was a lifelong, dedicated Catholic and frequently volunteered her services in church. Forever the optimist, she taught her children to see the best in others. She will always be remembered as a loving mother who cared for others. Even in her last days, she kept an incredibly positive attitude and a radiant smile on her face.
She is predeceased by her husband, a lifelong companion and dedicated father. She is survived by her five children, nine grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
