

Kirby Lane Dahl, 65 of Cypress, Texas passed away on Wednesday September 22, 2010. He was born June 1, 1945 in Houston, Texas to Ira and Mina Dahl and grew up in the Spring Branch area. After graduating from Spring Branch High School in 1963, Kirby attended Texas Lutheran College where he met and married Sue Taylor. He was a member of Sigma Lambda Chi Fraternity and graduated with a degree in Business Administration. Kirby was in the Machine Shop business for 43 years and was President and owner of Space City Machine & Tool. He was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Cypress. As an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a longtime member and current President of the Noisy Boys Men’s club. Kirby’s big heart, as demonstrated through his loving, trusting and generous nature, will be greatly missed by his many friends and family. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Sue. Kirby is survived by his son, Brian Dahl; daughter and son-in-law, Angel & Rob Croll; also daughters and son’s-in-law through marriage: Nikki & Shane Elliott, Natalie & John Taylor-Pappas, and Stephanie Taylor; former wife, Pam Dahl; grandchildren, Christine Croll, Danielle Croll, Kylie White, and Taylor & Alyssa Elliott; brother and sister-in-law, Randy & Shirley Dahl; nephew, Stephen Dahl. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 PM Sunday September 26, 2010 at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home 13001 Katy Freeway. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Monday September 27, 2010 at the Messiah Lutheran Church 11522 Telge Rd. Cypress, Texas 77429 and interment will follow in the Memorial Oaks Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, the American Heart Association, or to the charity of your choice.
