Kimberly (Pfister) Schraeder (64) of Houston Texas, passed away peacefully the morning of May 16th, 2023. Kimberly was born November 6th, 1958 in Baltimore Maryland to her loving parents Howard and Louisa (Manger) Pfister. Kimberly’s sisters were born shortly thereafter, Jennifer D. Pfister, and Lisa H. Pfister (Schmidt).
Kimberly achieved her degree in Mathematics and Latin in 1980 from Randolph-Macon College in Virginia. She also earned a secondary education certificate from Townson State University in Baltimore, Maryland.
She met the love of her life, David W. Schraeder and wed on May 5th, 1984 at All Saints Episcopal Church in Reisterstown, MD. In 1987, Kimberly and David were blessed with their first child Elizabeth Louisa Schraeder and two years later (1989) they were blessed again with their second child Sarah Blackhurst Schraeder (Grogan). Their third daughter was born in 1991, Emily Armsworthy Schraeder (Beckmann) followed by their last (1993) blessing Laura Bardusch Schraeder.
She enjoyed her career as a teacher in the public schools of Baltimore County, Maryland and Bernards Township (Basking Ridge) New Jersey Public Schools. Post her teaching career she turned her attention to her children. Kimberly was also active in Happening, a weekend renewal retreat for high school youth in the Episcopal Diocese of Texas and in high school Sunday School. Her impact on many teens was immense.
In 2016, she started a new phase of life with the title of “Mimsy” to her first grandchild Bethany Paige Grogan, followed by Cooper Drake Beckmann and Madeline Hope Grogan in 2018. The adoring title continued for the most recent arrival of Bridgette Mary Beckmann.
Kimberly is proceeded in death by her parents Howard and Louisa Pfister and her grandparents Sylvan and Thelma Manger, and Howard and Nell Pfister.
A visitation for Kimberly will be held Sunday, May 21st, 2023 at 6:00 pm-8:00 pm at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, followed by An Order Compline at 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be held Monday, May 22nd, 2023 at 11:00 am, at Holy Spirit Episcopal Church located at 12535 Perthshire Rd, Houston, TX 77024. Internment will at later date will be in the Columbarium of Holy Spirit Episcopal Church.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Endowment Fund of Holy Spirit Episcopal Church.
