Maria Kim-Oanh Pham, a loving wife, devoted mother, wonderful sister and caring friend passed away at age 65 on Jan. 29th, in her home after a long and hard battle with A.L.S. (Lou Gehrig's disease) for 2 ½ years. She has been very courageous and brave. During her illness, she remained committed to live her Catholic faith; she was always a good and faithful steward to her family and church. Her life was defined by self sacrifice, loyalty, compassion, and prayer. For this, she will always be remembered.
She was born August 9, 1945 in Vietnam to the late Mr. and Mrs. Le Tri Do and left her country in 1975 in search of freedom in the United States. Kim-Oanh is survived by her husband Ton Pham, son Dr. Tuan-Anh Pham, daughter Kim-Van and husband Shane Kairdolf, sister Kim Loan and husband Dr. Chi Duy Nguyen, brother Anh Tuan and wife Magali Do, sister Kim Lien and husband Chuu Hoang, sister Kim Chi and husband Liem Q Ky, sister Kim Dzung and husband Dr. Arthur Barbier, brother Hao Anh and wife Phuong Do, brother Dr. Hung Anh and wife Dr. Mahnaz Do, sister Kim Cham and husband Tiep Sanh Nguyen, and nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Chapel of Eternal Peace at Forest Park, 2454 S. Dairy Ashford, Houston, Texas on Monday Feb. 7th from 2 pm to 9 pm with vigil service at 7pm. A funeral mass will be on Tuesday Feb. 8th at 11 am at St Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 12627 West Bellfort Avenue, Sugar Land, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, it is requested by the family that free will offerings may be made to St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church (Sugar Land, Texas) and directed for memorial masses, home ministries, missionary activities, and/or the local chapter of St. Vincent de Paul Society.
