Lisa, and family,  It's been a long two years as we watched Kevin suffer.  I thank God that he has been called Home and is suffering no more.  There are so many memories, where to start?  At the beginning, you were kinda a mess.

Kevin Gainer is one of the sweetest, most loving people I have ever had the privilege of knowing. He loves his family, more than anything in this world, and I’m so blessed that I have been able to be apart of his. Since the day my brother introduced me to Kevin and Lisa, they have loved me and cared for me without fail, and have always treated me as one of their own. I will miss him tremendously, I am honored to have known him and to have been loved by him. I know he is at peace now, and he has gone home, and one day we will all be reunited with him.

My condolences to the Gainer  Family. 
I met Kevin about 2 years ago through a Grace Church life group called Iron Sharpens Iron. We would meet at Dennys every Tuesday and meeting Kevin is one of the best things that’s ever happened to me. He is a God sent man, and I thank God for allowing me to meet and hang out with Kevin. He has helped me become a better man. His faith was amazing. He along with others helped me recover my relationship with God. Kevin thank you  bud. I love you.

I met Kevin at a networking event a few years ago. After speaking and getting to know each other we realized we were both part of the One Team at Grace. Kevin was truly filled with the Holy Spirit . He would pray the most powerful prayers on my behalf. I pray his memory continues  to bless everyone’s life he touched. Kevin was my very special  nephew  whom I adore.  He as a kind and loving man. Kevin put God, Family,  and country  first in his life.

Kevin was a great father,husband, friend and brother. I’m grateful we had the pleasure of knowing and doing life with him. We will miss listening to his stories,  saving him from Skilynn, going to concerts, riding 90 mph while bobbing and weaving traffic , His perfected insoles that made every step easier, tailgating, praying with and for other brothers as that’s just a few of many memories .May your memories bring you, peace, and comfort.

Kevin you hold such a special place in my heart . One of the most selfless  Christian men I’ve ever be blessed to have in my life. Always encouraging and that warm smile of yours could light any room. Whether going dancing, bowling and man did we do some bowling, or sharing your amazing wife and children with me you forever changed my life and I will forever cherish the memories. I can’t believe you’re gone but I’ll see you again someday. May you rest in the arms of our father, completely healed. I promise to watch over your family and love them dearly. I promise to share as many stories with your grand babies as much as I can about what an awesome man you were. Tell Gin gin and jitterbug hello and that they too are missed. I was a senior at New Caney H.S. when I first met Kevin. I was with LeighAnne Mueller & Carla Timms at our Eagles homecoming football game in the fall of 1982. He was there hanging out with Terry & Shorty. We continued to run into each other at local events & started dating in January '83. I was 17 & he was 20yrs old. He would become my first love. Our circle of friends were Mike & Rendy, Keith & Carla, then expanded with other couples Roby & Greg, Billy & Priscilla, and Blake & Lisa. We made memories with many who would go on to be the best of friends with the Gainer Family. There were bowling teams that brought many of them together, Our relationship had it's share of speed bumps & interruptions and lasted a few months short of 5yrs. I would become Kevin's past & Lisa became his forever. We remained friends as we all moved forward with our lives. I still got a great discount on shoe repair! Heck he hired my high schooler little brother at the shoe shop. I am happy that he found his true love with Lisa & the beautiful family that they created. He was a great guy and I am grateful to have known and loved him. Lifting Lisa & family up in prayer. May you find peace & comfort in knowing that he had a glorious reunion with Jitterbug & Ginger.

My deep  & sincere condolences to Lisa & family.  Kevin was a genuine kind soul who my late husband, son & I were blessed to have met.  I will always be grateful for his generosity in helping my son obtain a pair or sport inserts for his medical condition.  Heaven has gained a true angel.

I knew Kevin from work and he was always so kind to me.  He would explain orthotics to me and I’m sure it had to be frustrating because I know nothing!  Kevin never showed frustration or seemed to be bothered.  He was always sweet, kind, generous and a good soul.
Big loss for us but heaven gained an angel.

Kevin was my best friend back in high school, he was always there for me and never questioned anytime I ask him to help me out, we worked together at his family’s Western Stores and when we went off to college we even took the same classes. He always had kind words for everyone. Even though our lives went into different directions after we got married, on many occasions they still crossed paths, but spending time with him in his last weeks it was if we never parted ways.  He kept me laughing and he never once said he regretted one minute of his life, I owed him more that he  ever knew ❤️

What a man, a craftsman and a willing servant. I will miss him!

Kevin was the most “down to earth” person, always ready AND willing to give a helping hand to ANYONE needing it🌹I CANNOT think of a better husband to my daughter than Kevin!  I always told him,”YOU are my favorite son-in-law” to which he replied, “but I’m YOUR only son-in-law” and I would say,”yes and my favorite🌹”He will be sorely missed; gone but never forgotten🌹Those who knew him  loved him🌹

Kevin came into my life when Skilynn came into my life and I'm forever grateful to this amazing family for making me a part of their own. Kevin always had a smile and a hug, even when some of those days were not good and he loved his family with everything he had.

So sorry for you guys lost, I still remember as a kid going with my grandpa getting shoes made by Mr Kevin after he had his stroke from the shop in Kingwood. I met Mitch and Aly in middle school as we became good friends before they even got together and married. I still remember always being treated like family and invited over even before I became a part of the family at one point. I love you guys and y’all are in my thoughts and prayers. Love Matt

Even back then, what I remember the most about you was your smile and laughter (look at that cutie on the second row!). Over the years, in school, we ran into each other often and always laughed. Dances, egg fights, getting stuck in the mud behind Porter Elementary (that was a phone call we all hated making to our parents). I will never forget those times and you will always be a very happy part of my memories.

Kevin was such loving kind man .He was a coach for the Crossfire girls  softball.Our hearts are broken to hear he is gone.Our condolences to his family and friends!!!He will be missed by so many!

Kevin was one of the most giving people i have ever met. He helped others on so many occasions and was always more concerned about others before his own well being. He was always about family and friend events and sincerely enjoyed a good joke. His dedication to making our community a better place and how he could help was several conversations we enjoyed several times a year. His daughter married my son’s best friend and it was always interesting conversations on who had the latest information on the newlyweds. He is looking down on us and our community to insure we do our best  to insure our community is well taken care of. I will miss you and our conversations very much my good friend.

Coach Kevin shaped many young lives including mine through the game of baseball on and off the field. He always treated the Laney’s as family and kept me on the right path and never let me get away with my nonsense. He was a large part of molding me into the man I am today and I will be forever grateful. He will always be remembered as a great man, father, grandfather, friend, and coach. Many prayers are with his wonderful family. Our hearts are with you. Thank you for the memories.

Kevin and I went way back in time at school,  members of the FFA, showing animals  while visiting the fairs. His Dad treated us all like his own, my first time eating some type of stew or soup, and simply growing up.  I would go by Kevin’s shoe shop sometimes just to visit, and sometimes he’d put a shine on my duty boots you could see yourself on. Kevin was always kind and welcoming, the all around like-able person  and a true asset in our community, home grown and never forgot where we came from.  I know he fought for a long time, but I never heard him complain, he just kept going.  He will be missed, he was a true friend as we know he’ll be there waiting up above.

Kevin Gainer, you will be missed my friend by any and everyone who knew you. I still remember how much fun we all had growing up through FFA. You have been a great friend and I will miss you. Rest in Peace my friend ♥️

We all loved the Ag Dances at school and to 59 ballroom, Wilson Rd or even Roy Heads. We were one big happy family 💙💛💙

FFA was a breed of our own back in the day!  We were all just one big family. We all had great a time together. All of our parents were each other’s extra parents and all of our Ag teacher were the best. We will most definitely miss our brother Kevin.

I’m so sorry for your loss. I never actually met Kevin in person, but he was a coworker of mine for several years when I ran the orthopedic department for a company in Florida. Aside from many great convos and fatherly advice, Kevin was one of a very select few who still kept in touch years after we had both left the job. Regardless of what company I ended up at, or what he was doing, we were states apart and only ever spoke on the phone, but he would always find time to check in, catch up, via text, Facebook, or a phone call. For years and years I knew I could always count on getting a random call with a “hey man how ya doin”. He will surely be missed and will always be loved by many

In 2015, our families gathered in Dallas, Texas, for yet another heartwarming holiday. After our annual group movie, we discovered an arcade within the theater, beckoning us to explore. Kevin and I eagerly took on the iconic Big Buck Hunter game, embodying the spirit of friendly competition. Kevin's unwavering dedication to family and infectious joy lifted everyone's spirits, spreading love and laughter wherever he went.
His selflessness, kindness, and unwavering faith inspired us all to be better versions of ourselves, making every moment with him truly unforgettable. He was stubborn and quite the smart-ass, always keeping everyone laughing and on the edge of their seat. May God be with my sister Lisa as she goes through this harsh loss of such an amazing man.

In revisiting the late 1990s, I recall a close-knit group of loved ones, including Kurt, Jason, Lisa, Kevin, Wayne, and myself. This photograph stands out for its ability to capture an authentic sense of family. Kevin's kindness, warmth, and generosity of spirit made everyone feel valued, while his optimism and patience inspired gratitude. By sharing meals, faith, and joyful moments, Kevin strengthened bonds among family and friends, leaving a lasting impact.

Looking back to 2019, my high school graduation ceremony was capped off with an intimate family dinner. Uncle Kevin left an indelible mark on my life, fostering numerous precious memories, especially during my formative years. His unwavering dedication and genuine interest in others earned him a special place in the hearts of those around him. He possessed a unique gift for lifting spirits and providing wise counsel, complemented by exceptional cooking skills that made holidays truly special. I will always treasure his kindness, wisdom, humor, and unwavering reliability. His strong spiritual foundation assures me that he has been lovingly received in heaven, now enveloped in peace and tranquility.

I’ll never forgot the time Kevin took me to Florida with his family for softball. My parents couldn’t take me but he didn’t wanna leave me behind. I had the most fun on that trip and still talk about it a lot now as an adult. Thanks for believing in me as a softball player coaches like yal were a rare find. I hope heaven treats you well and you will surely be missed.

Kevin, you took me and my family in and loved on us when you didn't have too. You shared your wonderful family with me and I will forever be greatful God brought you into my life. I know we are better humans for having known you!!! Your laugh, your cooking, and your dad jokes will forever be missed!!! I have the peace of knowing I will see you again in heaven but until that day comes give shonette a hug for us and tell her all about Shontel.... To the gainer family... We love you and are praying for you. My hope is to come visit soon but please know if you need anything or need to get away our home is open... I can imagine the pain of losing such an amazing husband, father, and pops .
