Kevin Lee Celestine was born September 19, 1963 in Houston, Texas at Yale Street Hospital. Kevin confessed Christ at an early age at Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church, under the late Reverend Frank Celestine. He attended HISD public schools. Kevin’s career began over 35 years ago with Pier 1 Imports, relocating to Dallas, Texas where he remained a dedicated employee. During his tenure, he met and married Phyllis Williams. He had so much love for his grandchildren, whom he loved dearly. His hobbies included softball, basketball, grilling, barbecuing, hosting many parties and making others happy. His home he love, and his garage was his true man cave. Such a great DJ he was, always thinking of ways to keep hope alive. Kevin would always say, “My Thang Is.” Kevin was loved and will be truly missed by all who knew him. A true Rock of Gibraltar he was, always available and attending to the needs of others. Kevin was preceded in death by his father Rev. Abraham Horton. Kevin leaves to cherish his memories: his loving mother, Edna “Jackie Horton”; two brothers Darrell and Aaron Horton; two grandchildren Simeon Anton and Aunzhane Walker; one godchild, Denise Brown; one uncle, Reverend Frank Celestin; a special and loyal friend, Charlotte “DeeDee” Rodgers, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
