At the age of 2, he moved to Los Angeles, California. He attended school in Pasadena, California and graduated from St. Francis High School in La Canada, California. He received many awards in academics and track and field. When he was ten years old, he competed in the National Punt, Pass and Kick Contest and placed third.
After high school he worked for IBM a short while. In June 1977 he joined the United States Navy in the Nuclear Power Field, where he was awarded many accommodations during his tenure. Honorably discharged in July 1983, he returned to Houston, Texas where he lived and worked for a few years.
In 1986, he moved back to Los Angeles, California and began working for Cigna Health as a Bio-Tec Technician. In 1987, he married Felicia; and to this union one child was born, Danyelle Sharece. In 1992 he returned to Houston, Texas, where he met and married Trina, to this union there were no children.
He worked for Texas Children's Hospital for many years as a Surgical Instrument Processing Technician.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his father.
To always cherish his memory, he leaves his mother, Yuvonne (Maurice) Birdsong of Glendale, Arizona, daughter Danyelle, grandsons, Billy and Christian of California, sister, Stephanie, brother Jonathan (Diamond) of California, aunts Royce (Dave), Sammie and "Auntie Leatha Mae (Calvin) of Houston, Texas, Stella (Van) of Louisiana, uncle, Raney (Sylvia) of California and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who visited him during his illness.
A memorial service for Kenneth will be held Saturday, July 14, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039.
