Kenneth "Kenny" Michalak went home to Jesus on December 12, 2024. He fought courageously with his serious medical issues in recent years, yet he never lost faith in the battle. Despite the pain, he maintained that smile that warmed everyone's hearts.
He entered this world with great challenges, as shortly after his birth, he contracted meningitis. The illness left him partially paralyzed on one side of his body. However, through the power of prayer and the unwavering petitions to God, a miraculous healing took place. He defied the odds and became a true miracle child.
Kenny met the love of his life, Mary, and it was love at first sight. Together they had two son: Eric and Brandon. Kenny was a devoted and loving husband, always standing by his partner with unwavering support and affection. As a father, he was equally dedicated, putting his children's well-being and happiness above all else. His loyalty, love, and care shaped the foundation of his family, and his presence was a constant source of strength and comfort.
Kenny was a member of Houston Carpenter's Local, (PBA) Professional Bowling Association, Prince of Peace Catholic Church and Assumption Catholic Church. At Assumption Catholic Church, he was an active volunteer, serving as an usher and volunteered to work the bazaars and was a member of the Building Committee.
He enjoyed bowling, fishing, hunting, hanging out with his grandchildren, playing air hockey, and attending baseball practice.
He is preceded in death by loving parents, Leonard John Michalak, Sr. and Bernice Mikolajewski Michalak West and brother, Leonard John Michalak, Jr.
Kenny is survived by his loving wife of 50 years Mary Anne Syzdek Michalak; children, Eric Alan Michalak, Brandon James Michalak (Brittany); siblings, Gerrie Johnson [Orrien (P-Nut)], Charles Wayne Michalak (Judy); grandchildren, Dylan James Michalak and Christian Rhys Michalak.
Kenny will be remembered for his faith and love in God, his unwavering love for his family and of course, being the life of the party. He could make you laugh with a joke or with his quick-witted humor. His smile and relaxed nature will be deeply missed.
It broke our hearts to lose you, but you didn't go alone, for part of us went with you, the day God called you home.
The family would like to give special thank to all of the exceptional doctors and nurses with Houston Methodist Hospital - Willowbrook, Houston Methodist Hospital - Medical Center, Gleannloch Farms Skilled Nursing Facility, Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital, Diversity Care Providers, and Heart to Heart Hospice.
