Kelly Harrell Holloway of Houston, TX passed away on Thursday, July 28, 2022, at the age of 63. After several months of declining health due to a stroke that he suffered from in April 2022, Kelly passed away peacefully at Houston Hospice. The world lost a great son, brother, father and friend that day.
Kelly was born on July 4, 1959 and always had a love for his birthday along with music, singing, fishing camping, hunting and baseball. Kelly was blessed with a large and loving family throughout his life with having two children of his own. He enjoyed taking them camping, teaching them how to fish and showing them off to his buddies at the Rodeo.
Kelly was a character at heart, always wanting to put a smile on your face with his Donald Duck impressions. He always could identify any kind of bird, animal or rock, earning him the nickname of “Ranger Rick”. He loved gardening, planting, watching storms roll in, could spell any kind of word and could pick up any kind of musical instrument and have it done in just a few days’ time. He was proud to be a part of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo serving on the Horspitality committee since 1983 and earning a Lifetime Member badge in the process. He will be dearly missed by his love ones and friends.
He is survived by his mother Patricia Holloway; brother Troy Holloway; sister L’nette Flowers; children Heather Walton and Garrett Holloway; grandchildren Wyatt Walton, Ada Walton, Havok Holloway and Hailen Holloway; brother-in-law Keith Flowers; son in law Lucas Walton; soon to be daughter in law Keelie Curry; nieces Tera Potter and husband Michael, Tiffany Bassett and husband Sam, Nicole Klander, Tory Flowers, Lauren LeCompte and husband Tim, Marlo Paulk and husband Mitch; nephew Matt Flowers; cousins Mona Harris and Gayla Zamora; aunt Mike Patty and husband Billy Wayne; great nieces Aubrey Klander, Ashlynn Klander, Ainsley Klander, Payton LeCompte; great nephews Cash LeCompte, Jack Paulk, Luke Paulk; and many more loved ones and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father Barton Elmo Holloway; brother Madison Barton Holloway; grandparents Eunice and Wallace W. Harrell and Myrtie Barton Fleming and S. E. Holloway; and Aunt Margaret Kroll.
