Katie Radenz

Katie Radenz nee Raschke, 95, born April 10, 1916 in Warrenton, TX was called to her eternal home October 24, 2011 in Brenham, Texas. She is survived by children Carol Zarnow and Ronald (Betsi) Radenz; grandchildren Debra Zarnow, Steven (Lisa) Zarnow, Kevin Radenz (Jennifer Bodnar) and Mindy (Ricky) Perez; great-grandchildren Heather, Ashley and Chad Zarnow, Hunter McNair, Demi Perez, Elissa and Breannah Radenz, and Sydney Bodnar. She will be missed by sister Louise Coleman, brother Al (Bettye) Raschke and many cherished nieces and nephews. Katie was preceded in death by her parents August and Milda Raschke, brother Edwin Raschke, sisters Dora Seelke and Lydia Laake, son-in-law Bill Zarnow and daughter-in-law Anne Radenz. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Houston, Texas for 75 years where she enjoyed volunteering and being a member of the Altar Guild, Willing Workers and Sunshine Club. She also volunteered for many years at the Good Samaritan Lutheran Thrift Shop. Visitation will be Thursday, November 3, 2011, from 5 P.M. to 8 P.M. at Heights Funeral Home, 1317 Heights Blvd, Houston. Funeral services will be held Friday, November 4, 2011 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 306 E 15th, Houston at 10 A.M. followed by graveside services at Woodlawn Garden of Memories. Pallbearers will be: Steven Zarnow, Kevin Radenz, Ricky Perez, Hunter McNair, Michael Coleman, and Chad Zarnow. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church. Donations may also be made to the restoration fund for the old sanctuary. Check donations should be made to "Greater Houston Community Foundation" and mailed to 5120 Woodway Dr, #6000, Houston, TX 77056. Indicate "Immanuel Restoration Fund" on the check memo.
