Kathy Jean Barnette, age 62, passed away peacefully into the arms of her Lord on Thursday, November 7, 2019, at Park Manor Nursing Home. She is no longer in pain. She was born on August 1, 1957, in Tyler, TX, to Edgar Leo and Jean Louise (Morris) Gates. She was a proud Majorette and graduate of the class of 1975 at Sam Houston High School in Houston, TX. Kathy learned to be a florist from her grandmother, Lillian Morris, and for many years she used her very great talent and creativity to bring beauty to the world. She will always be remembered and greatly missed by those that love her.
She is survived by her parents: Arthur (Bill) and Jean Franklin; her children: daughter Tamyra Townsend (and husband Vance), and son Christopher Ramsey (and wife Angela); her grandchildren: Matthew, Grace, Dillon, Ava, and Cole; her siblings: Larry, Keith (Emma), and Karen (Keith); as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A memorial service will be held at Earthman Resthaven, 13102 North Fwy, Houston, TX 77060, on Friday, November 22, 2019, at 2:00 PM.
