The Moon family is very much in my thoughts and prayers during these difficult times. I only met Ms. Moon once, but she was lovely.  She certainly raised a wonderful daughter - my friend and colleague, Connie.  with love, Avery

Fond Remembrance

I remember when
I was just a kid
and met my Aunt
for the very first time.

She seemed so adult
and sophisticated.
I wanted to be like her.
Right down to my tippy-toed shoes.

She wanted to 
pierce my ears
and I said, "No!"
Not me!  Running away.  

I remember being
at her wedding
and seeing her wearing
her beautiful white dress.

She went peacefully 
in her sleep!
After beating the odds
earlier this year.  

She will not be forgotten!

I will miss Aunt Moon!  I'm glad I got to see her at family gatherings in the past few years.

I remember being a brand new grad from Canada; scared, and yes very very Green. Amongst all my fear there you were sitting behind the Nurses Station greeting us with your warm beautiful smile. Karen was also my first Charge Nurse; but so much more than that. She was patient and kind; brilliant; and humble. Karen you will always be in my heart; and Thank you so much for everything you taught me. God has you safe in his arms!

21 years ago I met Karen.  She was my first charge nurse.  She taught me so much about empathy and compassion for our patients.  Heaven has truly gained a caring Angel.  God bless you family and friends!  Love you Karen; see you one day. AMEN
