Juliet was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She is preceded in death by her parents, Higinio and Estella Ontiveros, husband Joe E. Rodriguez, Sr., brother Robert Ontiveros, Sr. and Ivan Ontiveros, Sr. She leaves behind her son Joe E. Rodriguez, Jr., daughter Judith Jaime and son-in-law, Rudolph Jaime, son John A. Rodriguez and daughter-in-law Sundaye Rodriguez. She is the proud grandmother of Adrian Fuerte-Hall (husband Aaron Hall), Marissa Rodriguez and Xavier Rodriguez. She will be greatly missed by her brother Gustavo Perez (wife Kyle), and sisters-in-law Irene Ontiveros and Matilde Ontiveros along with her numerous nieces and nephews.
Juliet was a woman of great elegance and intellect. An avid reader and incredible cook, she loved reading, baking and sharing her incredible love of food with family during the holidays. Her amazing ability to listen and provide her support without judgement or criticism, made her a confidant and advisor to many of her family members. But it was her love story of the man she spent her life with, her husband, Joe, that brought her the greatest joy. They spent every day of their lives as the best of friends and soulmates until his passing in July 2012.
After Joe passed, she lived with her daughter and son-in-law. She was always ready to try her luck at any nearby casino. When she was not at a casino or cooking in the kitchen, you would find her ordering beautiful jewelry from her favorite shopping channel.
She always remembered her family roots, living in Houston’s West End and would share stories of family history with younger generations. The stories of her adventures with her best friend and sister-in-law, Guadalupe Medrano, were infamous tales that had fellow family members laughing. The two had a sister relationship until Guadalupe’s passing earlier this year.
Juliet’s kindness, humor, and unique spirit will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She was a woman of few words, but her wisdom and grace left a lasting impact.
