Julian Guzman Garcia, age 94, born on March 17, 1917, in Gonzales, Texas. Served in World War II as a Sergeant of the 462 Army Air Force Base Unit out of Randolph Field, Texas. After receiving his pilot training, he flew B26 airplanes. He received his Honorable Discharge on December 5, 1945. Julian was the former owner of North Point Pest Control Services. Julian is founder and charter member of LULAC COUNCIL 402 since December 14, 1964. He was a member for the past 4 years of AMERICAN G.I. FORUM, 21 years till present member of Benemerita Sociedad Mutualista Obrera Mexicana and former board member of Fiestas Patrias Park Committee. He was been involved by volunteering all his life by life by working with the youth, civic organizations and the Community. Survived by wife, Mamie ( Manuela) Garcia, daughters; CJ Alves, and JoAnn Torres, sons; Javier, Rudy, Julian Jr., and Miachel Garcia, 9 Grandchildren, Alexandria Alves, Gabriele Alves, Jesseca and Jacob Waxler-Garcia, Brian and Craig Garcia, Stephanie and Pete Herrera, Michelle Minor, and eight Great Grandchildren. Two sisters; Celia Trevino and Rita Garcia, numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Wednesday, August 10, 2011, 5pm at the Forest Park Lawndale funeral home. A rosary will recited at 7pm later that evening. Funeral mass is scheduled for Thursday, 10am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 2405 Navigation Blvd. Houston, Texas 77003. Interment will follow at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery.
