Julia E. Chapa, 62 of Houston, Texas entered into the gates of heaven on Saturday, August 14, 2010 at East Houston Regional Medical Center, after a lingering illness with her family by her bedside. She was born April 12, 1948 in Houston, TX and has been a Houston resident for many years. She was a member of St. Dominic’s Catholic Church. She is preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Sergio C. Chapa, her parents Trinidad and Estefana Esparza, her sister Lucy Gallegos. She was an active member of the Red Hat Society, she enjoyed knitting and baking.
She is survived by her children, Elizabeth Chapa and Danny Oliver, Stefanie Crago and husband Rick, Sergio Chapa Jr. and fiancé Monica Sanchez, Mario Chapa and wife Patricia and her wonderful and loving grandchildren: Christy, Ashley, Ryan, Kaia, Marc and loving great grandchildren Cayden and Audrina; two brothers, three sisters and numerous nieces and nephews. A special thanks to her caring family at San Jacinto DaVita Dialysis Center.
A visitation with the family will be on Tuesday, August 17, 2010, from 1:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 P.M., at Advantage Howard-Glendale Chapel, 1015 Federal Road.
Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, August 18, 2010, at St. Dominic Catholic Church, 8215 Reservoir Street, with Father Roger Estorque officiating.
Rite of committal will follow in Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery in Dickinson, Texas
Arrangements under the direction of Advantage Howard-Glendale Chapel, Houston, TX.
