Judy Ojeda Gonzales

She was the 2nd eldest of 13 children. She shared a small home with her 12 siblings and her parents while living on Center Street in Houston, TX.

She is preceded in death by her husband (Odell Tristan Gonzales), mother, (Aurora Sanchez), father (Mellton Ojeda), and her son (Dennis Avalos).

She is survived by her siblings Dora Diaz (spouse George Diaz Jr.), Theodore Ojeda, Emily Ojeda, Carol Cruz (spouse Armando Cruz Sr), Wanda Rodriguez (spouse Paul Rodriguez Sr), Manual Ojeda (spouse Yvonne Ojeda), Andrew Ojeda Sr (spouse Rosa Ojeda), Alice Gallardo (spouse Armando Gallardo), Ricky Ojeda, Rudy Ojeda, Paul Ojeda, Jesse Hernandez (spouse Paulette Hernandez), children Aurora Silva, Anna Silva, David Avalos (spouse Diana Avalos), Danny Avalos (spouse Mara Avalos), Zenia Ledezma (spouse Christopher Ledezma). Grandchildren, Fabrina Silva, Emily Gomez, Alex Palacios, Ashley Palacios, Roxanne Palacios, Valentine Palacios Jr, Henry Silva, Leroy Shafer, Howard Shafer, Jacob Silva, Dennis Silva, Celine Rischer, David Avalos III, Jazmine Avalos, Dennis Avalos, Nadia Avalos, Danny Avalos Jr, Aaron Avalos, Eric Calderon, Brittany Ledezma, Madison Ledezma, Autumn Ledezma, Christopher Ledezma Jr. She was also blessed with 32 great grandchildren and 23 great-great grandchildren.

She dropped out of high school to help care for her siblings only to return at the age of 36 and earn her GED. Judy worked for National Mail Advertising for over 35 years as a machine operator. She played the role of mother and father to her 6 children. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, puzzles, playing poker, and cooking for the people she loved. Her favorite flower was the Anthurium. She loved collecting elephants and was a huge fan of Elvis Presley. She will truly be missed. As her mother (grandma Nanie) would always say, “It’s not goodbye but see you later. “

A visitation for Judy will be held Sunday, April 3, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Crespo - Broadway, 4136 Broadway St., Houston, Texas 77087. A rosary service will be recited from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A funeral service will occur Monday, April 4, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Crespo Broadway . A committal service will follow at 1:00 PM at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr, Houston, Texas 77305. Celebration of Life to follow at Small Elegant Events 3703 Irvington Blvd. Ste# 1 (3pm-6pm)

Serving as pallbearers will be Leroy Shafer, Jacob Silva, Dennis Silva, Julius Rodriguez, Aaron Avalos, Chris Ledezma Jr., David Avalos III, and Isaiah Aguilar.
