Judy Ann Tibbs was born to Alfred Dewey Tibbs and Joyce Bryant Tibbs on October 20, 1942 at Jefferson Davis Hospital in Houston, Texas and departed this earth at home surrounded by family on July 2, 2018.
She is survived by her only child, Sydney Adams of Kingwood and her four beloved grandchildren, Sarah Hebert and husband Trey of Kingwood, Nathan McConnell and wife Kandace of Tomball, Jonathan McConnell of Humble, and Louis Adams-Diaz and wife Adrianne of Katy. She was blessed to have four great grandchildren, Kailey Conner Hebert, Santiago Diaz, Brody Hebert and Logan McConnell. She is also survived by her two sisters, Debbie Tibbs Rexroad and husband Tim of Mico and Cherie Tibbs Etchegaray and husband Butch of Casper, Wyoming. She is survived by many cousins, including her "sister cousin" Bonnie Munson.
She was saved and baptized at the age of 10 at Thornton Street Baptist Church and was a member of Second Baptist Church.
She was a lifelong resident of Houston where she attended Harvard Elementary, Hogg Junior High and Reagan High School. She worked at Baroid Corporation and Sperry-Sun for 17 years and Exxon Mobil for 17 years. She has been part of the local resale community for many years and was at home with her picker friends. She considered her grandchildren her life and they affectionately referred to her as "Dadaw."
The family will receive friends for a visitation on Friday, July 6, 2018 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM; a funeral service Saturday, July 7, 2018 at 2:00 PM in the Family Chapel at Brookside Funeral Home; with a burial to follow at Brookside Memorial Park and Cemetery, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039.
