.Judith (Judy) Marie Whiteman was born December 29, 1938 in Eureka, Kansas to Harold E. and Opaldean Higbee. She passed into the presence of The Lord Jesus Christ on October 1, 2014 from complications of Alzheimer's disease.
Judy attended her elementary school years in Neal and Reece, Kansas. She started high school in Eureka, Kansas but soon realized she wanted to be in a smaller school so for her sophomore year she transferred to Piedmont Rural High School. There she met the young man who became her life-long companion and husband, Roy Vaughn Whiteman. They married June 10, 1956, shortly after she graduated from high school and while Roy was in the Army at Ft. Hood, Texas.
To this union were born three children: Angela Christine (Chris), Linda Darlene, and Roy Daniel. Judy is survived by her husband of 58 years, Roy; Christine and Jim McClune of Amarillo, Tx; Linda and EB Attaway, granddaughters Natalie and her husband Bobby Jones, and Melanie Appel, all of Cypress, Tx; and, Roy and Terri and their children Mical and Nathaniel. For the past four years, Roy and Judy lived in Cypress, Texas with their daughter Linda and her husband EB. Judy was able to live these last four years in the company of her family, her precious kitty, Sweetie Pie, and the other Attaway animals she so loved to watch.
The celebration of passage will be held at Brookside Funeral Home, Cypress, 9149 Hwy. 6 North, Houston, Tx at 1:00PM, Saturday, October 4, 2014. Interment will be in the National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas on October 10, 2014 at 12:45PM.
The family has requested that, in lieu of flowers, any donations be given to The Alzheimer’s Association.
