She was preceded in death by her mother and dad, Dorothy Elizabeth and Thaddeus “Buster” Mabry and Judith’s life partner for many years, Beverly Jean Jones.
Judith is survived by her brother Franklin Leib and wife Terrie, sisters Nancy Coudrain, and Gail Hernandez and husband George, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She is also survived by Jean’s children, Alan Bonuelos, Wendy Sorsoleil, Pam Bonuelos, and Jean’s grandchildren. Judith loved all of her family unconditionally.
Judith’s family relocated to Beaumont, Texas in the early 1950’s where she and her siblings grew up. Judith was the oldest of the family and was strong willed and determined in anything she set out to do. As a young teen Judith cared for her younger siblings while her mom worked. She learned to sew and make her own clothes. After graduating from Beaumont High School, Judith attended nurses training at Charity Hospital in New Orleans. After graduation from nurses training, Judith worked as a registered nurse in many hospitals throughout the country and finally settled in Stafford, Texas. Upon retirement Judith continued working as an R.N. for hospice and home health. Judith loved to travel with Jean and their little dog Precious, and often shared memories of their trip to Grand Teton National Park. Judy was a great cook and baked delicious goodies. She loved to read and also to fish from her small boat on the bay at Seabrook. She and Jean watched bull riding as often as possible. Judy was a loyal fan of the Houston Rockets.
The family would like to express sincere gratitude to those who cared for her in recent years at Cascades at Port Arthur f.k.a. Gulf Health Care Center, Carolyn Williams, A.G.N.P, of Standard Medical Clinic, Port Arthur and Kindred Odessey Hospice. The staffs of these healthcare providers were always professional, kind and very compassionate to our sister Judith. The family is also grateful for the spiritual care provided by Rev. Jaison Jacobi, C.M.I. and Rev. Joseph Kattakkara, C.M.I., Nursing Home Ministry for the Diocese of Beaumont and Chaplain Gary McCormick of Kindred Odessey Hospice.
