Juanita Medina

Juanita Z Medina, was a housewife and mother to her only daughter and her two step-sons. She was a care giver to her father and her great aunt. Juanita came to Houston, the Greater East End, in Magnolia Park around 1954. She met and married Raul Ulloa for a short marriage of seven months. Then met and married Guadalupe Medina in 1961, a widower with two sons and a daughter. Guadalupe passed away in 1982, they were married 25 years. She met Refugio “Lupe” Valadez in 1983 and was with him till he passed in 1999.

Juanita is preceded in death by her parents, Jose Enrique Zuniga and Santos Originales Zuniga, 14 brothers and sisters. Husbands Guadalupe R. Medina and Refugio “Lupe” Valadez.

She is survived by her only daughter, Yolanda U Fernandez, husband Arturo. Her step-sons, Guadalupe Medina, Jr, wife Vera and Roger Medina, wife Cindy.

Her Grandchildren, Jessica, Arturo, Jr. and Joseph Fernandez. Roger Jr.,wife, Norma, Marcus Medina and his wife, Hope, Debra Avila and her husband Daniel, Kevin Wagner and his wife Flor, Armando Cantu III, Anthony Ray and Amanda Medina, Marisa, Jose (Beto), Anna and Carlos Caballero.

Her great grandchildren(who lived with her and next door) Jose-Raul G.Fernandez, Alex, Adrian and Carisa Rodriguez, Darian and Dylan Fernandez. Plus twenty three great-grandchildren and five great great-grandchildren from her step sons and step daughter. Numerous nephews and nieces from the Originales family (Rosenberg), the Zuniga family (Seguin & McQueeney), the Avila family (state of Washington) and the medina family. Her sisters, Antonia Guillen, Florida and Josie Garcia, husband Andy. Her brothers, Samuel, Silverio, Pete, Eligio, Julian and Nathan Zuniga.
