Juan was born in San Pedro, Valle del Cauca, Colombia, to Juan de la Cruz Nuñez & Griselda Correa on September 8, 1939. The youngest of 12 siblings, he grew up on the family farm, demonstrating the hard work and resilience that would define his character throughout his life. He came to the United States in 1971 where he met and married Laura Mejia on September 16, 1972, in Brooklyn, NY. Juan spent his last 20+ years before retirement working as a Dental Lab Tech for Imperial Dental Lab.
Juan was a loving husband, devoted father, and adored grandfather, always bringing joy and warmth to his family and friends with his vibrant spirit and kindness.
Juan is preceded in death by his siblings: Clelia, Celsa, Elvia, Marina, Susana, Lisimaco, Uvence, Julbio and Aldemar.
Juan is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Laura Nuñez; his children, Veronica Nuñez-Adams and Janette Nuñez; his brothers, Mario Nuñez and Marino Nuñez; his cherished grandchildren, Deanna Johnson, Solomon Aguilar, Juan Nicolas Nuñez, Dahiana Nuñez, and Daniela Nuñez. Juan also leaves behind a legacy of nieces, nephews, and extended family who will fondly remember his spirited stories, warm embrace, and enduring wisdom.
