Born in Cienfuegos, Cuba, on January 27, 1928, he was the son of Rosa and Jose Diaz. It was his hardworking morals and conviction to have a better life that brought him to this country in 1955. Maria Carmen and he were married 62 years and have raised a loving family.
He started his work career in the food service industry in New York with Horn & Hardart and ended it as a salesman with Goya in Houston. His sales success at Goya was recognized with the Goya distinguished sales award, The Big G, for exceeding $1,000,000 in sales and being an outstanding sales representative!
Juan, also known as Viejo, Pepe, Dad, Abuelo, Matraca, and Padrino, leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter unsurpassed by anyone. He brought joy no matter where he went. Juan lived life to the fullest, spending time with friends, watching baseball (especially the Astros), salsa dancing with his favorite partner, Carmen, eating sweets, and playing the lottery. His greatest love of all was for his family. He loved being with family.
He is survived by his wife Carmen, daughter Josephine (Patricia); son Robert (Julie); granddaughter Andrea (Crissy); and grandson Andrew (Brooke). He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Juanito, Delphin, and Roberto as well as his sisters Yolanda and Margarita.
