Juan Jose Cantu, 47, of Houston, Texas passed away July 5, 2015 as a result of a drowning accident. He was born February 12, 1968 and preceded in death by his parents Peter R. Cantu and Maria Dolores Tristan.
Juan was the life of the party and the biggest jokester. He loved being around people and make them laugh. He loved and lived life to the fullest and gave to anyone in need. He truly had a heart of gold. His favorite pastime was barbecuing and spending time with friends and family. He loved his home teams, the Houston Astros and the Houston Texans and would attend games whenever he could. He loved the outdoors and nature, specifically his two dogs Roscoe and Rocky.
Juan is survived by his daughter Jeneva Marie Cantu and his two sons Robert Joseph Vela and Armando Torres Vela, four brothers Robert Cantu, Peter Cantu, Edward Cantu, Victor Cantu and three sisters, Alma Torres, Christina Alba and Vickie Zenteno, 6 grand children and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Brookside Funeral Home and Cemetery located at 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039. Family viewing will be Friday, July 10, 2015 from 4pm-5pm and public viewing at 5pm-9pm with a Rosary Service commencing at 7pm. The burial services will be held on Saturday at 9am at the funeral home.
