Joyce E. Spears White

Joyce Evelyn Spears White entered into the arms of Christ her savior on Friday, August 24, 2012 at the age of 87. She was a Houston resident for 55 years and long time member of First Baptist Church Spring Branch.

Joyce was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Mercer E. White. Mom was survived by her children Sam White and wife Dee, Kathy Payne and husband Ken, Gary White Sr. and wife Cheryl and those calling her "Granny" her 7 grandchildren Ric White and wife Sheila, Chris White and wife Taylor, Kevin Payne, Karie Meeks and husband Zach, Shelby Sanders and husband Robert, Gary White Jr. and wife Rebecca, Kristel Meadows and husband TJ. Those calling her "Gi-Gi" her 9 great grandchildren Eve Dowell, Selah Sanders, Addison and Olivia White, Reese, Kadon, Landry, Bode and baby girl Meadows (due in November). By devoting her life to her family, she left us with an excellent example of what a wife, mom, grandmother and great grandmother was all about.

The family will receive friends from 6pm until 8pm Friday, August 31, 2012 at Waltrip Funeral Directors, 1415 Campbell Road, where funeral services will be held in the chapel on Saturday, September 1, 2012 at 10:00 a.m., with Pastor Gary D. White Jr. officiating.

Interment will follow in Memorial Oaks Cemetery.
