Joyce Jolivette, age 83, of Houston, Texas passed away on Monday, July 30, 2018. Joyce was born September 17, 1934, in Carencro, Louisiana to Paul Bernard, Jr. and Julia Comeaux. Joyce worked as a Surgical Assignment Technician-Secretary at St. Joseph Hospital for over 20 years.
Although she worked in the medical field, Joyce most loved being a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her children will remember her as the rock of their family—A women of extraordinary strength who worked diligently to nurture her children. She will truly be missed by all that knew her.
Joyce leaves to cherish her memories, three children Linda Ann Jolivette, Ervin Joseph Jolivette and (Sheila), Elton Joseph Jolivette. Seven grandchildren Lorenzo Davidson, Kristina Kyles, Elliott Jolivette, Alex Jolivette, Alton Jolivette Jr., Julian Jolivette, Allen Jolivette. Six great-grandchildren Paris Woods, Cayden Jolivette, Lorenzo Davidson Jr., Alex Jolivette Jr., Jaiden Jolivette, Emme Jolivette. Four siblings Lillie Beatrice Bernard, Ezola Sonnier, Daisy Bernard, Dennis Bernard and a host of other relatives and friends.
Joyce was preceded in death by; parents Julia Comeaux and Paul Bernard, Jr., and siblings, Dallas Bernard, Edwin Bernard, Peter Bernard, Viola Bernard, Edmond Bernard.
Visitation for Joyce will be held Friday, August 3, 2018, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039.
The funeral service will occur Friday, August 3, 2018, at 2:00 PM, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039 followed by the committal at Brookside Memorial Park.
Serving as pallbearers are Elliott Jolivette, Allen Jolivette, Julian Jolivette, Alton Jolivette, Jr., Lorenzo Jolivette, Jr., Joseph Marks and Alex Jolivette.
Honorary pallbearers are Ervin Jolivette, Elton Jolivette and Lorenzo Davidson.
