Joyce D Buchanan

Joyce was a resident of Windsong Care Center in Pearland, Texas at the time of her death. She was born in Elkhart, Texas and moved with her parents to Houston, Texas when she was 10 years old.

Joyce was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Monroe Higginbotham in 1996 of whom she was married 46 years.

Joyce and her high school sweetheart, Eugene Glenn Buchanan found each other again and married in 1997. Gene preceded her in death in 2017 after being married 20 years.

She is survived by 4 daughters and 3 sons. Dee Lively and husband Troy, Lee Higginbotham, Phil Wetmore, Chris Brewer and wife Cathy, Lorena Purswell and husband Ozell, Lynn Hertzberg and husband Roger, Darla Moore and husband Greg. Her 13 grandchildren Ethan Lively and wife Ginny, Steven Lively and wife Cameron, Joe Higginbotham and wife Amanda, Christopher Brewer and wife Becky, Nicholas Brewer, Candice Ellington, Ron Purswell, Misty Robertson and husband Jason, Ashley Montgomery and husband James, Courtney Lees and husband Bradley, Kailey and Stephanie Moore, Aby Hertzberg. Her 10 great-grandchildren Brenham, Wyatt, and Abilene Lively, Caitlin and Noah Brewer, Nathan Purswell, Austin, Harper, and Jack Montgomery, and Olivia Lees.

Joyce attended Stephen F. Austin High School. She went to work for The Prudential Insurance Company in 1949 and remained there until she retired.

Joyce loved the Lord and had a gentle, caring, and sweet nature. She was truly a genteel Lady loved by family and friends alike.
