Joy Lynette Spiller

Joy is survived by her mother, Hermonie O’Donnell; her daughter, Nikki Vineyard; her son’s and daughter-in-law’s, Steve & Melissa Brown and JD & Krystal Spiller; her grandchildren, Lindi, Bailee & Alexa Vineyard, Cheyenne & Joelle Gurule, Daniel & Sarah Brown & Kaden & Rylen Spiller; her cousins, Sylvia & Dan Roy, Marcella & Ricky Hairell, and Ken & Shiree Toon.

Joy is proceeded in death by her grandparents, Rev. Henry M & Minnie Roebuck Archer; her father, A.M. “Buddy” O’Donnell; her cousin, Daniel Roy; and son-in-law, Vance Vineyard.

Joy will be missed by many. She was a lifetime member in the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo & Barbeque Committee where she served as captain for many years. She loved her colleagues at Ineos Oligomers, where she worked for over 10 years. She had many great friends in the Houston area who loved and adored her.

Joy’s favorite Bible Verse: 1Thesolonians 5:18: “give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” Her name, JOY, means Jesus-Others-You… this is the way Christ tells us to live our lives, by putting Jesus first, then other people, then yourself. This is the way Joy lived her life and it showed by the showering to texts, phone calls and messages we have received over the past week.

Visitation will be at Forest Park Funeral Home on Friday May 17, 2019 from 1 pm -2:30 pm. A graveside service for family will be at 3pm. In lieu of flowers and plants, we are asking donations to be given to MD Anderson Cancer Center for Bladder Cancer in Joy’s name.
