With deep and heartfelt sorrow, we announce the passing of our beloved Joshua Charles Dunn of Houston. Joshua entered the Kingdom of Heaven on July 1, 2024, at the tender age of 21. Born on July 11, 2002, Joshua brought joy and love to everyone who knew him, touching countless lives with his strong and courageous heart. He will forever be cherished and remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Joshua leaves behind a legacy of love and unwavering dedication to family and friends. His greatest joy and source of strength was his family, always ready with his signature big hugs that conveyed his deep affection. He cherished his pets and had a great love for all animals, reflecting his gentle and caring nature. Children were naturally drawn to his warmth, and he often dreamt of the family he would one day create.
Joshua enjoyed the outdoors, nature, being by the water, and fishing trips with his dad. He put his whole self into any work or task before him. A young man of empathy and compassion, he cherished the times he and his mom volunteered to help others. Joshua was an old soul and a deep thinker who loved having profound, meaningful talks and had a big appreciation for nostalgia and history.
In the echoes of fond remembrance, may a sense of peace be found knowing that cherished memories will continue to shape and inspire his loved ones. While his presence may be gone, his impact lives on in the kindness shown to others and the joy Joshua found in ordinary moments of life.
Joshua found eternal peace alongside his maternal grandfather, Federico Castro; paternal grandfather, Charles Dunn; paternal great-grandfather, Victor Soto; and maternal great-grandmother, Dr. Anita Torres Smith.
He leaves behind his loving parents, mother Jennifer Rose Castro, and father Charles Bradley Dunn; his grandparents, Lupita Gutierrez, maternal; Paul and Cythia Dominguez, paternal; as well as his siblings Matthew, Carley, Madelyn, Liliana, and Natalee Dunn. He is also survived by his uncle and aunt Michael and Dahlia Corey and their children; numerous family and friends, and a loving community.
Joshua’s warm spirit and loving heart will be forever remembered and cherished by all who knew him.
