Josephine "Josie" D.V. Leos , passed away on Wednesday, August 28, 2013, at the age of 76, after a short illness from a stroke, She was born and raised in San Antonio, TX by her parents, Guillermo Del Valle and Otila Brugnoli Del Valle.
Josie attended schools in San Antonio where she met the love of her life and caregiver, Fred Leos in high school. They married and had two sons, David E. Leos and Robert A. Leos, who preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Fred Leos, her "Precious Princess" grand-daughter, Lindsey Nicole Andrade-Leos, daughter-in-law, Linda Andrade, her sister, Vickie Benavides, brother, Richard Del Valle from San Antonio, TX. Brothers-in-law, Isidoro (Yolanda), Reynaldo (Margie), Guadalupe (Ana Marie) Leos from San Antonio & an abundance of nephews & nieces throughout Texas & Colorado.
Josie worked, since moving to Houston in 1969, from day care centers to elementary schools as an instructor in Spanish/English and of late as a teacher's aide at St. Michael Catholic School. She enjoyed pre-k children as they challenged her the most. She leaves behind her dear friends from St. Michael Catholic School, dog "Kaci" and her beautiful rose gardens.
A memorial mass will be held on September 11, 2013 at 1:00 PM at St. John Vianney Catholic Church followed by a reception at SJV hall. This date coincided with her son Robert's birthday. Special thanks to Dr. Jay-Jiguang Zhu, M.D. Ph.D, Neurologist & Neuro-Oncologist, The University of Texas Medical School at Houston, the therapists at TIRR, Brandy McKelvy, MD, UT Physicians, Pilmonary Physician and last the Staff of Memorial-Hermann Hospital Downtown Medical Center. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the building fund of St. Michael Catholic School, 1833 Sage Road, Houston, TX 77056, U.S. Veterans of Foreign Wars or your favorite organization.
