Big Joey, as he was known to many, moved with his family to Houston, TX in 1967 at the age of 4. He attended Elsik High School and the University of Houston. He worked for his brother, Vincent Raviele, at Ravelco, and then at the age of 25 started his own successful business. He established Simone Security in 1988 and installed aftermarket accessories for new car dealers. Simone Security operated throughout the Houston area for the past 31 years.
Joey met the love of his life, Angela, in 1989, at Clubland in Downtown Houston. They married the same year, and the rest was history! Family was everything to Joey. He was the most dedicated, devoted father to his children and family. He never missed a practice, event, or game. No one was a stranger. Everyone he met was a friend. He is fondly remembered as saying, “I’m Joey Simone. I’m known from coast to coast like butter on toast.” His family stretched far beyond just his immediate family.
He was passionate about hunting, fishing, and archery and was active in organizations close to his heart. Joey ran Diamond S hunting services for many years, was the 3D Archery Tournament Director for Lone Star Bowhunters Association, and was a Life Sponsor and Calendar Chairperson for Ducks Unlimited. These were not just his buddies, they were his brothers.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Omie and Joseph Simone Jr., his son, Nicholas Rocco Simone, and his sister, Linda Raviele.
He is survived by his loving wife, Angela Simone, his son, Joseph Simone IV and wife Alison Simone, and his daughter Aryn Simone. He is also survived by his brother, Vincent Raviele, his nephew, Jimmy Raviele, and family in Rhode Island and Florida.
The family will receive friends for a visitation on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home, 12800 Westheimer Road, Houston, TX 77077, from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M.
