Joseph Vincent Schramm

Joseph Schramm, 83, of Houston, TX died March 4, 2014 after a brief fight with cancer. He was born September 26, 1930 in Victoria, TX to Ida and Edwin Schramm. After graduating from Victoria High School and attending College, he joined the United States Air Force where he was a pilot flying bombers, jets and cargo planes. After retiring from the service after 20 years, he worked in insurance and other industries. In his retirement, he enjoyed a good round of golf. He truly never met a stranger.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Donna Schramm and their daughter Julie Schramm Braly, her husband Locke and his grandson Adams Braly and granddaughter Elisabeth Braly along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Arthur and Edwin Schramm.

A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held March 11 at 12:15 pm at Houston National Cemetery located at 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials honoring Joe’s life be made to the American Cancer Society, any Veteran’s organization or other charity of your choice.
